Call of Duty and Guitar Hero servers disrupted by Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy has disrupted some of Activision's New York-based data centers, causing issues with the online servers for a handful of the publisher's games.

According to the company's One of Swords, the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the PS3, PC, and Wii versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops, all versions of Call of Duty: World at War, and all versions and titles in the Guitar Hero series have had their servers disrupted by the superstorm.

Activision says that it is "working on restoring full functionality as soon as possible," but it can't be sure when that'll be.

This isn't the first story we've had on Sandy's wrath today, as it has postponed Take-Two's earnings report, cancelled Assassin's Creed 3 midnight launch events in the affected areas, and even dispersed the queue of those waiting for the launch of the Wii U.
