European release of Fatal Frame IV canceled

fatalframe4a

Looks like Europe won’t be getting Fatal Frame IV unless it’s imported.

Originally slated for a May release, and advertised in a French magazine, the European release has been canceled according to the Official Nintendo Magazine.

From the mag:

“One time envisaged for a May release, the localization of the game has been cancelled and the game will stay as an Japanese exclusive game.”

No reason was cited, so hopefully Tecmo/Nintendo can get together and work things out for everyone who wants it.

More over on Cubed3.

>:( I don’t own a Wii, but I’m still pissed at the BS that’s gone on with this game.
They both deserve all they get (or don’t!), if they believe that a game of an established franchise, where you use the wii remote like a camera, to damage ghosts wouldn’t be effective.
While you’re at it, take your proprietary firmware (still region-specific…yawn) and cram it, Nintendo.

The Wii: The console for those who just don’t like to choose.

It was advertised in that French magazine as coming in May, and then it was announced for the US and then retracted. Again.

Its is a mess, really. Makes both Tecmo and Nintendo look bad. Dare I say which one looks worse for it ….

Dosnt say what mag… I’m guessing Nintendo Europe put out the ads before knowing it was decided that Japan would pull it.
