Nintendo will release the Metroid Prime Trilogy on August 24 just in time for Metroid Prime 3 Corruption’s two year anniversary.

The trilogy contains Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2:  Echoes from GameCube reworked with full widescreen 480p support and, of course, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

North Americans can expect to pay $49.99 when it lands on shelves.

IGN has the full scoop along with a hands-on through here.

That’s great news. The first Meroid Prime was fantastic, though I never got round to playing the second or third games. If this makes it over to the UK, it’s a ‘must have’ for me.

Plus, nice to see they bothered to go back and put widescreen support in.

    480p support…for GC graphics.

That’s way too steep of a price if u ask me.

Absolutely stonking games. The first was simply amazing. I bought a Wii and Gamecube practically for these games alone and played them to death. This collection therefore isn’t for me but it’s a superb deal for anyone who has missed out so far.
