Driver: The Recruit trademarked by Ubisoft

driver

Ubisoft’s trademarked Driver: The Recruit, as you can see here.

A new Driver game was confirmed to be in the works by a BBC report last June, although Ubisoft studiously skirted comment on the issue.

E3? Sure. Thanks, superannuation.

Sometimes you just need to let a series die. This is a concept game developers need to grasp a hold of.

You can release a game under a new title, you don’t have to clutch on to the coat tails of past successes to have a successful game.

And lets face it, the Driver franchise doesn’t have the best reputation there days *cough*driv3r*cough*

Ubisoft and EA rarely let franchises die no matter how terrible they are.

Last time I checked, Atari handed off the series to Ubisoft :P

Well fuck you guys to be honest.

Give Driver it’s due please. You guys wouldn’t have GTA without it, I’d love to see what they can do with the series to create a game that ISN’T a GTA clone.
