Sony – Levels of PSP piracy are “sickening”

psp3000a2

SCEA’s Peter Dille has told Gamasutra the PSP’s got a big piracy problem. Like you didn’t know.

“I’m convinced and we’re convinced that piracy has taken out a big chunk of our software sales on PSP,” Dille told Gamasutra.

“It’s been a problem that the industry has to address together; it’s one that I think the industry takes very seriously, but we need to do something to address this because it’s criminal what’s going on, quite frankly.

“It’s not good for us, but it’s not good for the development community,” he added. “We can look at data from BitTorrent sites from the day Resistance: Retribution goes on sale and see how many copies are being downloaded illegally, and it’s frankly sickening.”

Full interview through there. Thanks, Eurogamer.

@Actually Monkey, on a completely different, but serious topic, I remember you saying you help care for Autistic adults?

If its not too much trouble could you post a forum with suggesting reading material, or links, about care for autistic children & onwards?

As someone in that profession I would appreciate your opinion. If i’ve got it wrong i apologise.

@496

Man is an obvious troll.

Effective but without finesse…

TEA and cronies had a brogasm going together that steamrolled a lot of good people.

I’ve been bullied before, I’ve bullied people before (much to my shame), but that was clearly schoolyard bro chest bump shit…

Da Man has tried to get me onside before, but he flip flops so much it’s not even funny. Easy troll is easy to ignore for me, that’s why I haven’t bothered to call him out.

But this is all too convieniant IMO… :)

@Tea, We all know Pat is either…

A) Not giving a shit.

or

B) Laughing maniacally about how great a puppet master he is and chanting “I knew they’d be back!”

Personally I hope its B :)

@501

Yeah, I manage a home for people with profound Learning Difficulties & Autism.

Without breaching confidentiality obviously, I care for 3 adults and help with behavioural therapy and day to day running off the service with my staff.

Got about 10 years experience although its mainly with adults. Would like to work with children as a lot of ‘in grained’ behaviours are established through the formative years.

I know it sounds terrible, but I feel I learn a lot more working directly with people than from reading, although I’m happy to discuss a few texts that have helped me gain perspective.

I don’t dismiss text altogether (have to work within strict guidelines), but being able to adapt and be sensitive to rapidly changing moods helps alot I find! :)

Would be happy to discuss things on a thread if you need help with similar work or other info! :)

Pat is right now attending the “You made 500 posts in a thread” award ceremony. Afterwards he’ll ascend into the heavens and meld with the universal consciousness…

@TEA, bitsnark used to go under the username Stolen Glory, who is one of the longest running members on this site.

I don’t think anything actually realised that’s him. I hope he wasn’t intentionally hiding it, or I just blew his cover. -_-

Hope you’re keeping safe and life is treating you well. Same to you Spider.

Trolling? I’m yet to do that (notwithstanding 4 year old threads).

You have to have quite a limited vocabulary, either that or perception of a 12 years old to call anyone who mocks as being a troll.

Incidentally, that reminds me of a certain ..poster who used to think people have some hidden agenda every time they disagreed.

Believe it or not I really do think some people are precisely what I call them. No finesse needed there.
