GDC: Major multi-plat reveal in “6 or 7 hours,” say Keighley

megatona2

GTTV’s Geoff Keighley’s updated his Twitter to assure that the major reveal he mentioned for GDC this weekwasn’t the new Zelda game shown in Iwata’s keynote tonight.

“Big surprise is multi-platform,” he said. “And it goes down in about 6 or 7 hours.”

At which point we’ll be in bed. What is it?

How is anything going to top onlive?

Wow for consoles is the biggest thing I can think of, and the ambition inherent to that idea is tiny compared to onlive. Assuming it works.

Modern Warfare 2 or Assassins Creed 2, seems to be the two popualr and VERY likely answers. MW2 teaser site up, so my bets on ont hat, but I’d much prefer Assassins Creed 2.

Fuck you Ass Creeding people.

That’s not a homosexual slur, just an insult to those who call it Ass Creed.

It was a flawed but great game.

I didn’t find the original Assassin’s to be a great game at all, but I’ll let your “flawed” opinion of it stand. It was a good game with faint slivers, hints, of greatness. It also had a lot of blah in the mix, too. It could have included more involving gameplay, but it had some interesting elements. I’d have liked to have seen more done, in regard to Altair, and his activity in the locations – there was none of the masterful subtlety or pre-planning shown in the trailers released before the game.

It just turned out really simple, almost lazy sometimes in execution, also in terms of building Altair, as a character. Again, there were some cool ideas, but mostly, there was what seemed like dumbing down of a concept deemed too ambitious to complete on, which left a game that came across as not bringing all it could have been.

Isn’t Modern Warfare 2 already “announced”? Mind you, Infinity Ward’s community guy is at GDC…

Wouldn’t mind seeing some of Assassins Creed 2 either

“Isn’t Modern Warfare 2 already “announced”?”

It’s not an announcement. It’s a “surprise” reveal of s title we already know about.

And it’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Oh yeah!

This is the most excited that I’ve been about a game since Street Fighter II on the SNES.

I think this one is going to be the game if the year, no contest.

It looks like they might be looking to make audio a bigger aspect, in this one. Anyone get anything else, about the full game, from the trailer?

There is loads of info around if you check the comments on different sites for this story.

People have got things like spotting a teddy bear, to managing to translate the Russian dialogue.

Seems like they are going with a really interesting plot this time too, as the teaser seemed to suggest that there were people shooting up an airport whilst pretending to be Russian and thus provike some kind of response against Russia.

Ooo, it’s all so exciting!!!
