CCP has just announced that the 10th free-to-play expansion pack entitled, EVE Online: Apocrypha, will be released on March 10.

In what CCP dubs its most ambitious expansion to date Apocrypha promises that “the fabric of space itself will be transformed as vast, unpredictable wormholes open to connect previously unexplored regions of the universe to the stars of New Eden.

“The seeds of advanced new technology await inside of these cosmic anomalies for those brave enough to explore them. This infusion of technology will enable production of the most dynamic vessels ever – Tech 3 modular ships with an astounding amount of customizability that can fill any role from skirmish muscle to industrial support.”

Full release after the break.

Anyone here play this?

I’d like to know what the hell it is, always see adsa for it, and yet have never understood it.

If it’s anything like Freespace, which I assume it is not, then awesome.

I expect it’s more like Homeworld, which is also AWESOME… but not so awesome.

I play this on a normal basis… you wont find another MMO anywhere like this. Everything is player driven, you gain skills while offline. The controls take a little getting used to, and as long as you get with a good group of people (btw everyone is on the same server) then you will be fine. Going at EVE alone can be a pain in the butt.

Try the trial, if you want someone to fly with let me know and I will give you my characters name and I can have you flying with some good folks. Its atleast worth trying out.

Sorry, there just isnt a way to compare it to any other game.
