Professor Layton to get feature-length movie in Japan
According to this IGN report, a feature-length movie of Professor Layton’s in the works and planned for a 2010 release in Japan.
Titled Professor Layton The First Movie – points if you can spot parallels with any other Nintendo handheld franchises – the film will feature the same voice cast as the game, with Yo Oizumi as Layton and Maki Horikita as Ruke.
More through there.

This’ll probably end up with English subtitles in short order, thanks to fans. Though I’m hoping that Nintendo will deem it worthwhile to release it outside Japan as an audio translation. The voices were simply grand in the DS game, and I think they could make a good job of it.
Layton was one of those rare cases where I thought the American/English voice actors were far better than the Japanese ones.

Any idea where I can buy a copy of the game from? It’s sold out fucking EVERYWHERE.

Littlewoods seems to have it, but then it’s also marginally more expensive than everywhere else. It just depends on how badly you want the game, though, because everywhere else does seem to be out of stock.
I skimmed over a number of shop searches, including Google shopping and Kelkoo, and that was really the best I could find. Layton’s is even more popular than I realised.

Yeah, it’s amazing isn’t it. It’s going on my Christmas list so the mother-in-law has a couple of weeks to sweat out a restock happening.
Hmm, Littlewoods; does that mean I can buy it in 104 easy weekly payments of 50p each?
