Hey there! Unfortunately it’s just a WARHAWK demo, not a Tom Clancy’s Endwar’s one… just to let you know…

The EndWar demo can’t be found on the two Eurostores I have access to. Maybe they only have the English version ready?
(EndWar is the game with voice control, right?)

Anyway, Mirrors Edge seems to be good enough for me. The controls are easy enough and I didn’t experience to many deaths due to misjudged jumps.
Is running around a level all I will have to do in the full game? Is it all set in the same area? If so, I fear this might become pretty repetitive.

I seen the Mirror’s Edge demo there but then I seen the EndWar logo and the demo.

It is there, without a doubt.

Yeah, the End War demo is there, I’m midway through downloading it.

Mirror’s Edge is something rather special. Plays like a dream and is totally intuitive to control. It really looks the part as well.

There is some pretty heavy screen tearing problems which I hope are ironed out for the final release, but it’s an absolute day one purchase for me.

From Mirror’s Edge Trailer Story:

“Amazing demo.

It’s absoutely incredible and I have had only one playthrough of it so far because I am off to Belfast for a week and a half in an hour with my Xbox 360.

Still, spare of the moment thing, I have now also decided to take my PS3 with me to play the demo and get some trophies for GTA IV.

Download this demo now, its incredible.”

Thats how brillant this demo is, it’s now gone from a possible Day One buy which could have been delayed to a Day One buy for certain, pending on EA sending me a review copy which, by the looks of it, they aren’t =(

Maybe EndWar is only up in the UK. The only game with War in it in the German and Dutch stores is Warhawk.

Yeah, I’m using the UK store, so that’s perfectly possible.

End War is in the Norwegian PS Store, but I guess it’s just a mirror of the UK one anyway.

Mirror’s Edge is disappointingly brilliant!

Yeah! I have to admit I didn’t expect much from ME, but after trying the demo version earlier I have to say I am pretty impressed with that! May that be the return of stylish games?! Looks like it! This is so damn cool! Anyway, I don’t know if it’ll be a day one purchase for me… just too many games incoming!!! And wallets beg for mercy…. ;-)

Apparently there’s tearing issues if you play it on a SD telly.. Sucks for those without any other option, but if it’s any consolation it looks beautiful in HD without any tearing or other inconsistencies at all :)

Fine! I buy an HD telly then.

(Not for this alone, but for the games in general. Most of them are just not old, small SDTV compatible. :) )

I was pleasantly surprised by Mirror’s Edge.

I have to say that my expectations had been dulled and I downloaded it with trepidation, the reason for this was all the morning-birds here chirping relentlessly about how it was probably a game purely about learning the level, and one couldn’t have fun with it unless they’d learned the level’s path. Blah-blah-bloody-blah.

Anyway, it’s actually really very good, and whether one knows the exact route through a level or not doesn’t really impact on how much fun one has, the only way it would is if a person were an OCD speed-runner, and they absolutely had to get the best time in Mirror’s Edge when playing the game their first time.

So the long and short of it is that Mirror’s Edge is a truly sublime gaming experience, it’s new, fresh, and genuinely interesting and anyone would be robbing themselves of seeing something truly unique and brilliant (in the sense of genius) if they were to overlook it. I’ll be grabbing this on launch day.

The demo should shut the critics up and if anyone has their doubts, give the demo a go and you’ll likely see in it what I saw there. Mirror’s Edge is one of those games that could quickly become a Gaming Drug if the player lets it, the kind one could lose time to, quite easily.

So all in all, a very good experience. And a pleasant surprise this Thursday that I wasn’t altogether expecting.
