What is it with these weird ‘literally translated from Japanese’ sub-titles of late?

They make me think of “I can’t believe it’s not butter”.

What was wrong with the old subtitle they had for it? City Folk?

Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City is a bit of a mouthful.

Wasn’t the “City Folk” thing banned in Australia? Culturally insensitive or something.
