KORG’s DS music synthesizer’s been confirmed for European release. The quirky bit of kit releases on the Continent on October 10.
According to the company, the software “the quality and behaviour of original KORG products,” providing a “fully functional, complete synthesizer on the Nintendo DS that will allow musicians to improvise and record their own music, alone or with fellow musicians.”

It’s absolutely brilliant. I’ve no experience with this sort of thing, but have had immense fun noodling about with the Japanese version for the past few weeks, creating loads of quirky noises and funky loops without ever getting close to mastering a full-blown tune. Looking forward to the UK version so I can start tinkering with the relatively unknown (to me) features and link the two versions to create even more out-there sounds.
The DS is a wonderful thing.

If you’re having fun with it, have a look at this if you want something a bit more substantial for making music that comes with a full “making sounds” component (unlike something like Cubase). It’s incredible.

Eating my words. I said I don’t get portables, but this has piqued my interest.
But if it’s like cubase for the DS, i will proabably stick with actual Cubase. Or Reason
