PSP 3000 LCD to have twice the response time
Engadget Japan has revealed that the LCD on the new PSP 3000 screen will have twice the response time of the current model.
The new 3000 model has twice the colour gamut and five times the contrast ratio, too.
So that’s great.
Thanks, Joystiq.

Saying it has “twice the response time” makes it sound like it takes twice as long.

He’s right. Twice the response speed would be improving the screen, that or half the response time.
Example
Response time = 30ms
Half the response time = 15ms
Double the response time = 60ms

Well the response already is barely noticable, since games like DJ MAX are perfectly playable.

The problem is the ghosting, which this should help with.

That’s pretty good news as ghosting was annoying on the PSP’s screen, took them long enough to do it though.
Pity they didn’t redesign the PSP to include the missing buttons to make it comparable to the dualshock/sixaxis controller as the remote play feature on the PS3 could actually be useful with the same controls.
