Four new PS3 game and controller bundles announced for Europe

After getting our attention with the hotter than hot-cakes Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, Sony has gone into overdrive by lining up another four bundle packs exclusively for Europe.

The games on offer are Folklore, Motorstorm, Formula One CE or GT5: Prologue complete with sixaxis controller.

Just to point out, these bundles don’t include a PS3. They’re just the game and a controller. We’re saying nothing.

Thanks Game-class.

Piss off Sony. The way you treat Europe is disgusting… yet we lap it up.

    It’s ridiculous isn’t it?

  3. kasai said:

Screw the bundles I want a Price cut.

  4. Psychotext said:

The price doesn’t concern me too much right now, but the lack of BC, DS3 and any choice other than glossy black is rather annoying.

/weeps for cancelled gunmetal order at play

  5. epic_wanderer said:

Agreed on BC and DS3. I’ve got a got a few PS2 games (Okami among them) still to play but I can’t bring myself to wind up my PS2 to play them. It just looks so awful on my TV. FFXII, for example, looked okay when still but as soon as you started moving the whole image exploded into a mess of chunky pixels.

It really is beyond a joke now. I’m simply not buying one whilst Sony insist on shovelling this shit (and only this shit) at us in Europe.

Looks like I won’t be buying one for a good while yet, then.

  7. Truk said:

I don’t think they care. Everyone else seems happy to buy one.

    I want a dual shock 3 controller.

  10. Blerk said:

NOBODY WANTS THESE BUNDLES, YOU BUFFOONS!

  11. morriss said:

Well, considering they’re selling really well in Europe (or so everyone says) then I guess people do want them. :(

  12. Blerk said:

NOBODY WHO ISN’T STUPID WANTS THESE BUNDLES, YOU BUFFOONS!

  13. Spiral said:

This announcement has made me more determined not to buy one until they stop being dicks. And they almost had me as well.

  14. patlike said:

Last gasp at getting rid of Sixaxis, innit. Has to be.

  15. Blerk said:

There’s still all the Sixaxis pads they didn’t manage to sell in Japan or the US for us to buy yet.

  16. morriss said:

why fucking palm them off to us though?

Sell ‘em all for a fiver and be done with it.

  17. Blerk said:

    Because we’re actually buying them?

I don’t know that they’re doing that, by the way. I just guessed, because it sounds like the sort of thing they *would* do. :-D

  20. Blerk said:

Hey, Kotaku are saying these are just ‘game and pad’ bundles, not ‘console and game and pad’ bundles!

I surmised they were actually including a console. I guess they won’t be £300, then. :-D

Edit: And they’re right! Look at the pictures!

  21. morriss said:

Ah! Lost in translation there. Damn Google translate!

  22. patlike said:

Ja, we knew. Sorry, it wasn’t that clear. I’ve added a line to stress it.

  23. Blerk said:

Shouldn’t you change the headline as well, given that there’s no PS3 included? :-D

  24. patlike said:

I thought you knew, Mike? It said just the game and controller in the story. Is why I put it through, innit.

  25. patlike said:

    Fair point. Have done so.

  26. morriss said:

    /blames dog.

    /deletes everyone’s negative Sony comments

  27. Blerk said:

    Trouble at t’mill!

  28. patlike said:

Sorry, that’s why I said it was a last ditch attempt to get rid of the controllers.

    *builds bunker, kills self*

  29. Blerk said:

Are these fifty quid, then? That’s not really a very good deal. Most of those games are sub-£20 and the pads are going for £26-£28. You could probably buy game and pad separately for less than £45.
