Firebrand returns this month with Demon's Crest, Gargoyle's Quest 2 Virtual Console release

Nintendo has announced upcoming Virtual Console titles for the month of October, and alongside the previously announced Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, is Capcom's SNES 1994 release Demon's Crest.

Demon's Crest was the third game starring Ghosts 'n Goblins enemy Firebrand, and was preceded by Gargoyle's Quest and Gargoyle's Quest 2.

The latter is also coming to Virtual Console under the title Gargoyle’s Quest 2: The Demon Darkness. The Game Boy version of the game carried this subtitle when it was released as Japan-exclusive title in 1993.

It was originally released on NES in 1992 before being ported to the handheld.

Alongside the aforementioned titles, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land will also arrive on Wii U during October. The current release slate follows below.

Virtual Console October:

  • Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow – Oct. 23 (Virtual Console on Wii U)
  • Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land – Oct. 30 (Virtual Console on Wii U)
  • Demon’s Crest – Oct. 30 (Virtual Console on Wii U)
  • Gargoyle’s Quest 2: The Demon Darkness – Oct. 30 (Virtual Console on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS)
