Daily Deals

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

$29.99 (50 percent off) [Windows]

The final adventure of Geralt of Rivia is probably one of my favorite games this year and at half off, it's absolutely worth diving into. If you're a fan of big RPGs, The Witcher III has some of the best quests in the genre. And if you don't want to jump into the series blind, the Enhanced Editions of The Witcher and The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings are available at 85 percent off.

Escape Goat 2

$3.99 (60 percent off) [Windows, Mac, Linux]

Somehow, the goat is trapped again. Escape Goat 2 is an excellent puzzle platformer published by the fine folks at Double Fine. Using your mind and your reflexes, you haver to overcome over 100 rooms of traps and enemies. If you burn through the whole of Escape Goat 2, you can also pickup the first game on sale.

To The Moon

$1.99 (80 percent off) [Windows, Mac, Linux]

In this unique little RPG, two scientists travel into the memories of a dying man named Johnny. Together, they have to pry apart his past, piece together his life, and ultimately find out what his dying wish is. There's no combat here, just story, but it's a worthwhile experience for the price.

Armello

$14.99 (25 percent off) [Windows, Mac, Linux]

Armello straddles a number of genres. It's part card-game, part table top title, part RPG. League of Geeks has crafted an excellent title, where you choose your clan, wander the wilderness, and attempt to become the King or Queen of Armello. If you're up for it though, be prepared to set aside some time: Armello games take a while.

Volgarr the Viking

$2.99 (75 percent off) [Windows, Mac, Linux]

Volgarr the Viking is a painfully hard throwback to the arcade action platformers of old. It's not a matter if if you'll die, it's when you'll die. You have to tackle seven levels, with a limited number of lives, against enemies that will kill you in one or two hits. If you die, you lose all your powerups. Sound fun? People who loved Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Rastan, or Legendary Axe sound get a kick out of Volgarr.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

$6.69 (67 percent off) [Windows]

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person mystery with the players taking on the role of Paul Prospero, an occult detective who receives a disturbing note from a young boy who's in grave danger. Now it's time to head to the town of Red Creek Valley and solve a local murder. Here's Bob's take on it:

"The Vanishing of Ethan Carter picks up where Myst and its various sequels left off—spiritually, that is. Though its setting doesn't strive for the outlandish, and its puzzles feel more natural to the world around them, Vanishing's Red Creek Valley provides a convincingly lived-in and unbelievably detailed backdrop that feels ripped from faded pictures and jittery home movies, rather than the work of 3D modeling software. Around every corner, you'll find yet another reason to pick your jaw up off the floor thanks to the unrelenting beauty of Red Creek Valley's winding forest pathways, distressed, turn-of-the-20th-century architecture, breathtaking vistas, and all the other visual elements that lend this wholly fictional location a distinct sense of history and presence."

The Wolf Among Us

$6.29 (75 percent off) [Windows]

With The Walking Dead, Telltale Games found a winning formula that has helped propel the company forward. The Wolf Among Us has the developer trying that formula on the world from the Fables comic. Bigby Wolf has a series a brutal murders to solve in Fabletown. There's a serial killer afoot and Bigby's got to find him or her before more people die. It's detective noir, filtered though your favorite fairy tales.

Tropico 4

$3.99 (80 percent off) [Windows]

Welcome back, Generalissimo! This isn't the latest Tropico game, putting you in charge of an island nation, but for the price, you can't argue with it. Build, trade, and govern your way to a brighter, bigger, Tropico.

Sunless Sea

$9.49 (50 percent off) [Windows, Mac]

In the Victorian Gothic universe of Fallen London, you have to navigate your ship through a pitch black ocean. Sunless Sea is like FTL; every shot is your only shot. Find loot, upgrade your ship, and recruit unique officers. Will you make it through, lose the sanity of your crew, or turn to cannabalism to survive?

Papers, Please

$2.99 (70 percent off) [Windows, Mac, Linux]

In the mighty country of Arstotzka, you're a civil servant at the border of Grestin. Your job is to monitor immigration. Using the documents travelers hand you, you have to decide if they're allowed into your country. Balance your immigration quota, the pleas of refugees, and the potential to allow spies and terrorists into your nation. There's really nothing like Papers, Please out there.

Geneforge Saga

$2.99 (80 percent off) [Windows, Mac]

Another classic RPG is on sale! This saga includes all five of Spiderweb Software's great RPGs. You're a Shaper, a group of mages that craft life, and you must develop creatures to fight alongside you. Or perhaps you want to fight against the Shapers, who control much of the world. Altogether, these five games tell the grand story of the rebellion against the Shapers. It's a bit old school, but if you can overlook that, it's a great series of RPGs.
