Ouya co-founder Muffi Ghadiali exits micro-console start-up

Ouya founding team member Muffi Ghadiali has left the company, with no destination or explanation provided.

Ouya confirmed Ghadiali's departure in a statement issued to TechCrunch:

"Ouya is focusing more on the next phase of the business and product development. We’ve made some recent changes including the departure of Muffi Ghadiali who was invaluable during the launch of Ouya. As is to be expected, Ouya is an ever-changing business, and as we continue to grow our needs shift accordingly," the company said.

Ghadiali led several key teams at Ouya, notably those responsible for hardware and firmware design and development. TechCrunch cites anonymous sources for word that it was Ghadiali's decision to go, and for word that the former Amazon leader was "instrumental in the creation of OUYA as a viable consumer product, and one of the most experienced CE experts on the team".

Prior to joining Ouya, Ghadiali was a product manager for Kindle, and further back worked in the HP TouchSmart and Media Center PC devices.
