Nintendo apologizes for delay of TVii in Europe, says to look for it "in the near future"

Nintendo has apologized for the release delay of its TVii service in Europe, however, the firm has said to look for it "in the near future."

According to Nintendo Life, the firm said: "We would like to apologize that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned.

"Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future."

Nintendo TVii was launched in North America last year in December and the European release was expected to follow by the end of the year.

The service allows users to doodle and write comments all over the live television show they are watching using the Doodle feature included in the TVii Tag on Wii U.

The TVii Tag feature can also be used to interact with other users watching the same program.

TVii also supports YouTube as well as Amazon Instant Video and Hulu Plus apps along with a built-in Netflix app.
