Namco Bandai at TGS - Vita, 3DS, Soulcalibur V

Famitsu already spoiled some of the big announcements to come out of the Namco Bandai pre-TGS press conference, but there were still some details to be chewed over and enjoyed. Expect big things for the PlayStation Vita launch lineup, Tekken, Ace Combat, Katamari Damacy and - of course, Soulcalibur V.

First off, a couple of 3DS offerings. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy is headed West, no ETA for EU just yet, but it'll be arriving in the U.S. on November 15th. Details for the handheld Tekken 3D Prime Edition were also a little sketchy - Namco Bandai refusing to narrow things down further than "February 2012".

Jumping ship, the company's signed up for three games to hit the PlayStation Vita launch window - so keep an eye out for Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja, a new instalment of Ridge Racer, and (exciting!) a new Katamari Damacy.

Saving the best for last - Hisaharu Tago stepped up to talk about the game he's producing - Soulcalibur V. He's not alone on the projet, with Namco actually choosing to outsource parts of the game to dev studio CyberConnect 2, best-known for the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games as well as the .hack series.

Expect big things - the soundtrack to the game will feature pieces from such artists as Inon Zur (Dragon Age) and Cris Velasco (God of War III). John Kurlander - Grammy-award winning recording/mixing engineer will also be looking after the Soulcalibur V audio.

So the thing should look good and sound good, here's hoping it plays good, too. Soulcalibur V has a release window of Q1, 2012.

(Thanks, Gamespot!)
