Wattam, the next game from the maker of Katamari Damacy, hits next month

Keita Takahashi has been busy.

Wattam, the next game from the creative brain behind Katamari Damacy, will launch December 17.

The game will be coming to PlayStation 4 as well as PC via the Epic Games Store. A Steam release is also in the works, although no official word on when we might see that. Wattam is currently available for pre-order at a 15 percent discount - the game will cost $20.

In Wattam, you play as a character named Mayor who has lost both his memories and his friends. In the game your role is to attempt to reunite him with his friends, and explore together. The announcement also promises an impressive 100 characters to interact with. Check out the latest teaser trailer for the game below.

Wattam has been in the works for some time. The upcoming Takahashi title - which is in development from Funomena, a studio formed by former thatgamecompany vets Robin Hunicke and Martin Middleton - was first revealed all the way back in 2014, and had already been in development for two years prior. A release date was initially planned for 2016.
