Dark Souls 3 player makes mockery of one the game's toughest bosses with unrivalled precision

Remember how you thought parrying attacks in Dark Souls 3 was the coolest/hardest thing anyone could do? Prepare to change your perspective.

Dark Souls 3, like its predecessors, allows you to parry enemy attacks. Provided you have the timing down, (which relies on a number of factors, don't even get me started), you can deflect most enemy attacks, giving you a chance to hit them for massive damage.

This even works on certain bosses, too. But you probably already know all of this. What you don't know, however, is that there's more that can be done with the system.

In the spectacular video above (via Kotaku), iHardlyTriHard Gaming set up a very unique and difficult challenge that involves the parry mechanic.

The player is facing the Champion Gundyr boss, and his rules are to spin 720° degrees, then parry the attack behind the back. He then must attack the boss, and quickly perform a 'Praise the Sun' gesture.

The next step is to remove a piece of armour or ring, then switch to a different weapon and shield for the next parry until the boss is defeated. If this sounds like a nightmare of a challenge, wait until you watch the video.

Champion Gundyr is one of the game's optional bosses, and you have to traverse a secret area to reach him. Dark Souls 3 players will know that although he shares some similarities with the tutorial boss, Iudex Gundyr, the Champion version is the real deal, and nowhere near as forgiving as the poor old first boss.
