Initial votes show Australians strongly in favour of R18+ rating

australianflaga

Out of 1,084 submissions processed so far into an Australian public consultation on the debate on an R18+ rating, only 11 people have been opposed.

That's just over 1 percent. The Australian government has so far received 6,239 submissions on the matter, with just over 1,000 having been processed by the Classification Policy Branch at the moment.

Last week, retailer EB Games threw its weight behind the initiative after 84 percent of customers wanted to see the classification become law.

Australia currently has a 15+ age rating as a maximum for games, meaning more "adult" titles can find it difficult to secure a release in the country.

Thanks, Gamespot.
