Friends threw this nine-year-old a birthday party in Animal Crossing: New Horizons because of the coronavirus lockdown
Lovely nine-year-old Sophia didn't count on getting a surprise birthday party in Animal Crossing.
We've been mostly hearing bad news these past few weeks, so it's great to see a feel-good story cut through the noise. Sophia, the daughter of PlayStation London producer Alexia Christofi, didn't get her ninth birthday party because of the coronavirus lockdown in the UK.
Little did she know, her mother's friends have been planning a little surprise party for her elsewhere: in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They even did the work to make it feel as real as possible, bringing gifts and setting up confetti poppers, and they all played some hide and seek with little Sophia.
Her reaction when she found out is priceless, especially when she got excited about all the fruit.
