Watch the first three missions of Star Wars Battlefront 2 running on Xbox One X

Star Wars Battlefront 2 definitely doesn’t shy away from this whole ‘playing as a bad guy’ thing, nope.

The first few missions of the game see you escaping a rebel prison ship, taking down rebels on Endor in the wake of the events of Return of the Jedi, and finally assaulting a ship in a manner so violent poor rebel soldiers are left scrambling to close doors to keep you out, screaming in terror as you stalk through the corridors.

It’s some pretty mean stuff, but… yeah, it also feels pretty good to be bad. We captured the first three missions of the game, which are available now for Xbox and PC players via EA’s Origin Access or EA Access subscription services.

This video is of the Xbox One version of the game running on the Xbox One X. This video capture is only 1080p in resolution and that’s the resolution we had the Xbox One X outputting at, but for those of you with 1080p TVs it’ll give you a glimpse at what the extra power of the machine does for people with 1080p TV sets. For what it’s worth, by the way, I can say that on an actual 4K display the game looks absolutely ludicrous, especially when it comes to vehicles and space scenes – Frostbite is doing some serious work here.

The story seems to be on track to provide an interesting experience, and protagonist Iden Versio seems to establish herself pretty quickly as a rather different and interesting force in the Star Wars universe. EA has just announced they’ll be continuing her story with a free DLC expansion, too.

You can play these levels yourself, and up to ten hours of multiplayer, with the current trial version of Battlefront 2 on EA Access. The full game is out in a week’s time.
