Just Cause 3 renders at different resolutions on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it’s not a huge surprise.
“We do so much with physics and screen space effects, that we are confident our players will thoroughly enjoy themselves no matter the platform they play the game on,” game director Roland Lesterlin told the site.
The frame-rate target was not revealed.
Just Cause 3 is far from the only title to adopt this approach. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, The Witcher 3, and most recently Need for Speed, all maintained the same split. Avalanche’s other open-world title, however, Mad Max, ran at 1080p on both consoles.
Just Cause 3 is out December 1 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
