Star Wars fans can get their hands on Disney Infinity 3.0 in August

Star Wars fans will be able to get their hands on the newest Disney Infinity 3.0 content earlier than expected.

The latest iteration of the franchise has been dated for August 30. Everyone expected it sometime in early fall.

Star Wars expansions Twilight of the Republic and Rise Against the Empire, as well as the really neat Boba Fett figure, will be exclusive to the starter pack for PlayStation 3 and PS4 for the first month of release.

The packs will be released for other platforms once the exclusivity period has ended.

Star Wars play sets will come in three flavors:

  • Twilight of the Republic set in the Episodes 1-3 timeline featuring Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul.
  • Rise Against the Empire set during the original trilogy featuring Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader.
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens – details of which will be announced at a later date. It will be released this winter alongside the film of the same name.

Along with the PlayStation console versions, Disney Infinity 3.0 is slated for release on Android, iOS, PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
