Disney Infinity 2.0 featuring Marvel universe characters coming in August - report

Disney Infinity 2.0 is heading out of The House of Mouse in August and will feature Marvel universe characters.

This is according to a report on a Disney fansite Infinity Inquirer via D23.

The information was gleaned through a post on Disney's official website, but it has now been pulled. You can view the cached version here.

The original post on the site is as follows: "Disney Infinity 2.0 is coming in August 2014, and a teaser trailer can be viewed at Marvel.com. The teaser promises such Marvel-ous additions to the game as familiar Marvel characters, objects, and vehicles - the possibilities are infinite."

However, Disney has since issued a statement claiming the August release date for Disney Infinity 2.0 was "erroneously reported" in its news brief," going on to say the "information was incorrect" and that more new about Disney Infinity "will be shared on April 30."

In February, rumors around the financial sector started “new versions” of the game featuring Marvel and Star Wars characters were expected.

Diseny Infinity is currently available on iPad, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.
