Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is stand-alone on PS3, PS4 users can import data

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is coming west next month, but there's been a bit of confusion as to what it actually is - add-on? Stand alone expansion? Dual release? Tecmo Koei has clarified how the dual title will appear on all platforms.

Here are the three SKUs for Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends' western launch:

  • Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - PS4: contains both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends. If you own the PS3 version of Dynasty Warriors 8, you can import your data for use in both games on PS4.
  • Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - Vita: contains both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends
  • Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends - PS3: a standalone expansion. Can be played alone, but if you have the original PS3 game you can import your data.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends arrives in North America on March 25, before heading to Europe and PAL territories in early April.

The expansion first arrived on PS3 in Japan in November last year, and the PS$ dual title is a launch title for the console in Japan.
