Steam Holiday Sale 2013: Snow Globe promo, Arkham Origins 50% off

Hold onto your wallets, friends, because Steam's holiday sale has kicked off. Get all the details through the break.

This year, Valve is hosting a Snow Globe promotion, which sounds great to me given that it's 38 degrees in my home town.

If you manage to collect all ten Snow Globe trading cards, you'll be able to craft a badge and earn a reward; repeat the process to earn further rewards. Reward items are new, top tier and tradable; see the full list of goodies. As ever, cards are earned by buying and playing games on Steam.

See the latest deals below. In addition to daily deals and regular flash sales, Steam also asks users to select one title from a small group to feature as a community choice sale item. Today's choices are FTL, Dust: An Elysian Tale and Shadowrun Returns. Voting also helps you earn Snow Globe items.

Keep your eye fixed to Steam during the course of the sale; we won't be covering it in as much detail as we do at other times of the year, because we'll be on holidays through most of it.
