Spartacus Legends wins Australia's second R18+ rating

Spartacus Legends lives up to its gory license if the Australian Classification Board's assessment of its "high impact violence" is any guide.

The free-to-play online brawler has picked up an R18+ rating.

Spartacus Legends is just the second game to earn the highest possible rating since its introduction on January 1; Ninja Gaiden: Razor's Edge was the first, but Mortal Kombat and Left 4 Dead 2 may follow.

The Ubisoft-published title is coming to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live but has not yet been dated. Based on the Starz series, it allows players to create a gladiator from scratch or play as either Spartacus or Crixus, and follow a gladiatorial career from training through to becoming arena champion. It supports local multiplayer as well as ranked online matches.
