Looks like that Spanish musician spilling on a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sequel wasn't a case of being lost in translation after all.

A VG247 source has confirmed that plans for a MercurySteam-developed sequel to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow are "advanced".

The news follows MercurySteam composer Oscar Araujo telling a Spanish radio station that, "If you liked the first [game], hope that the second is even more spectacular.”

Konami declined to comment on the talk.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow released in the UK in early October for PS3 and 360, and debuted in the UK charts at number six.

The game is considered to be a franchise reboot, and is not a part of the original series canon.

Lords of Shadow is set during "the end of days" in the year of 1047. The Earth's alliance with the Heavens has been threatened by a malevolent force known as the Lords of Shadow. Spoiler: you go and kill everything.

Expect more on the sequel soon.
