Dragon Quest IX in top 15 best selling games of all time in Japan

Dragon Quest IX is already in the top 15 best selling games of all time in Japan, two and a half months after going on sale.

Thats according to a list compiled of the top 50 biggest selling games of time in the land of the rising sun, going from the Famicom to today’s systems.

The game lands in at 13 on the list with lifetime sales of 3.8 million. But it isn’t enough to overthrow Pikachu and Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow from the No. 1 spot.

      Square Enix has announced that worldwide shipment figures for Dragon Quest IX have topped 5.3 million units as of December 2010, making the title the largest selling in the series’ history.
