The ESRB has rated a PlayStation 3 title called Best of Playstation Network Vol. 1. The description notes that the retail release includes four games – Fat Princess, Tokyo Jungle, Sound Shapes and When Vikings Attack. We have no information of date, price, regional availability, whether Vita cross-play will be enabled, or if more volumes are forthcoming; stay tuned for a proper announce from SCEA. Xbox Live Arcade has produced similar offerings, including Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged.
Thanks, Shack News.

Tokyo Jungle is – pardon my French – ‘utterly hat-stands’. But it’s also rather brilliant in a mad kind of way. Sony has revealed that a remote play patch is coming tonight that allows PS3 owners to play the game on their PS Vita.

Tokyo Jungle is all kinds of amazing, but like most people Sony was a little wary when Japan Studio first shilled the concept.

Tokyo Jungle launches in Europe 26th September, but VG247′s Dave Cook has been playing it for a few weeks. It’s absolutely insane, and it could be the PS3′s biggest cult hit since Demon’s Souls. Read on to find out why.

As if you haven’t’ seen enough Tokyo Jungle screenshots over the last year or so, Sony has decided you need a few more – four to be exact – so, we’ve obliged the firm and posted the lot for you below. The post-apocalyptic animal survival sim was released on June 7 in Japan, and while a release date hasn’t been provided for Europe or the US just yet – it’s coming.

Post-apocalyptic animal survival sim Tokyo Jungle has reached 200,000 units shipped since its June 7 Japanese release. Andriasang reports Sony Japan seems pretty pleased by this figure, which includes both stock sent to retailers and actual sales directly from the PlayStation Network, and is now aiming for the lofty goal of 210,000. It doesn’t sound like bucketloads but the game topped the charts and sold through most of its stock. Sony, if you would like to sell some more of that maybe give us a release date because some of us have lifelong rhinos-in-baseball-cap goals to fulfil.

Media Create has reported that the post-apocalyptic animals-run-amok title, Tokyo Jungle, has sold through 87.47% of its stock at retail in Japan. The game debuted last week in the number one slot, moving 110,309 units on PS3. SCEA’s confirmed Tokyo Jungle for a US release, in addition to Europe, but a release date has yet to be announced. Thanks, Siliconera.

That headline would have been a perfect ace if one of the animals featured in this batch of Tokyo Jungle screenshots was an actual dove.

Got 17 minutes to spare? Want to see pixelated animals fighting over resources or trying to keep from being said resource? Then head below the break to watch a video showing the opening stage to Tokyo Jungle as a cute Pomeranian. Game’s out in stores on June 7 in Japan as well as through the PS Store. Thanks, 4gamer.

Sony has started taking digital pre-orders for Tokyo Jungle in advance of the game’s June 7 release the PS Store in Japan. Those who wish to pick the game up through the service will have to pay in-full in advance, but it will be less expensive that way as well: the digital version is ¥3,900 ($50) and comes with a dynamic theme and 10 avatars, where as the disc will run customers ¥4,980 ($63). The pre-order offer is a first for Sony, reports Wired, and is another example of Sony’s push to make its products as “accessible as possible,” to the consumer by offering both digital and boxed releases at launch.

Watch downtown Tokyo get swarmed with all kinds of animals and a small dog on a rooftop below the break. I have nothing else to add to the crazy video.
It’s out next week in Japan for PS3.

Andriasang has posted new information on Tokyo Jungle, which focuses on the various equipment your animal character can don. One interesting bit of gear, is roller skates for elephants, which help the animal to move faster. There’s also a sumo wrestler belt for the Japanese Tosa dog which helps it run faster for some odd reason. No word on whether hippos can wear tutus or not. The post also delves a bit into mini games, such as hunting giant rabbits.
