Shadow of the Eternals has a new video available showing over nine minutes of gameplay and cinematic footage. The episodic game in the works at Precursor Games, is the “spritual successor” to Silicon Knights’ Eternal Darkness and is currently seeking crowd-funding. Nintendo of America has once more applied to extend its trademark for Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, the 2002 cult-favourite Silicon Knights Gamecube title. This is the fifth extension, and every time the Big N does this everyone starts speculating wildly that a sequel or re-release is in the works – but then absolutely nothing happens. Silicon Knights was rumoured to be working on some sort of followup before a legal battle with Epic grounded the developer.

Silicon Knights has been ordered by a North Carolina federal judge to pay Epic Games over $9 million, essentially doubling the $4.5 million a jury awarded Epic in May after it was found Silicon Knights deliberately copied code from Unreal Engine 3.

Earlier this year Silicon Knights lost a legal battle with Epic Games over a breach of its Unreal Engine license agreement, and the disclosure of Epic’s trade secrets.
