serioussam3

Those thinking of pirating Serious Sam 3 may wish to reconsider, unless they want to be dogged constantly by a giant, pink, invincible scorpion. According to a report over on Dark Side of Gaming, the DRM in the game is said giant scorpion, and it cannot be killed. It only appears in pirated versions of the game, and will be your constant, deadly nemesis from the moment you boot up the game. A video of the DRM in action is posted below, which will save you the trouble of pirating the game just to see how it works. Thanks, RPS.

Croteam goes asset mental with Serious Sam: Double D

serioussamdoubled

Croteam has releases quite a few assets for Serious Sam: Double D, which is slated for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The game is a hand drawn, side-scrolling shooter which takes the iconic hero across three worlds: the pyramids of ancient Egypt, Pompeii, and the jungles of prehistoric Earth. The game also allows for stacking any combination of weapons one on top another and fire them all at once. Two shotguns on a laser gun and grenade launcher? Of course. Four chainsaws and a flamethrower? Yes, please. The game also includes challenge rooms and serious secrets. Awesome. The game is slated for release next month.

Croteam still working on Serious Sam 3, publishing deal close

serioussam

Croteam’s CEO Roman Ribaric has posted on the company website that Serious Sam III is still in development, but it will still be a while before it’s ready for the adoring public because it still needs a publisher.

“Since the Serious Sam 2 was released in end of 2005, we have been working hard on a number of things, one of which is new next-gen ‘Serious Engine 3′ technology,” he wrote.

“We have also recently started the development on two games, one of which is the next Serious Sam FPS game. Here, we are pretty close in signing the publishing deal, so when that happens, you’ll hear it here as well.

“Since a lot still has to be done, especially on the next Sam game, we don’t have a firm release date on it yet. When we do, we’ll announce it here on our pages.”

“I still can’t tell you [what's going on],” he said. “I’m hoping to very soon.”

Croteam is the Croatian developer responsible for the Serious Sam games. The new title will use the Serious 3 engine, and has been described by the company as a “military tactical-action shooter” for PC and consoles. It’s coming out in 2009.
