Next game from ex-Criterion devs will appeal to Burnout and Black fans, says Ward

One of the games former Criterion developers at Three Field Games are working on will probably be liked by Burnout and Black fans.

Three Fields Entertainment, the indie team made up of former Criterion talent, has been teasing us for what seems like years about their upcoming projects. For one, we know one of these is a Burnout spiritual successor.

Today, we learn slightly more about the other mysterious project of theirs, which according to studio head Alex Ward is something fans of both Burnout and Black - the often forgotten shooter - will appreciate. Ward took to Twitter to say this, and answer a few fan question equally cryptically.

Ward later added that despite that, the game won't have cars or guns, which sounds strange.

The studio's official site calls it "an innovative new twist on a sports game that’s fast, funny and heavy on social multiplayer." Going through Ward and Three Fields' Twitter feeds reveals that the game has a playable build and that screenshots are being captured, so hopefully a reveal isn't too far off.
