A Random Event system as been added, and it works exactly as it sounds.

Random incidents, disasters and challenges will occur, upping the difficulty and unpredictability of the game. These occurrences include power station and kitchen fires, bulk intakes, workshop accidents, collapsing fences, contagious viruses, and more.

The system is optional, and can be enabled from the Create New Prison screen. Events will not happen during riots, or if you have less than 50 prisoners on site. All events have an extreme version, which is "very rare, and much more severe."

A myriad of bug fixes are also included in the update.

If you head over to the Prison Architect Steam page, you can look over the Alpha 36 notes.

Prison Architect was announced in 2011 and a 2015 release was pegged earlier this year.

Prison Architect will release in October and will run you $29.99.
