Mortal Kombat X: three international tourneys announced, $100,000 prize pool

Warner Bros. has announced a new series of Mortal Kombat X tournaments with a prize pool starting at $100,000.

Mortal Kombat X Worldwide Competitive Program is a series of tournaments that kick off in April and allow players from the around the world participation. The tournaments are the Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament, Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League Tournament and the Mortal Kombat Cup.

The season starts off with the Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament on April 11. You can watch the event live on NetherRealm's Twitch channel or buy tickets to attend the event in person.

Starting April 19, the worldwide Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League Tournament opens to North American and European Xbox One players. Players will compete weekly and will vie for becoming one of the 16 finalists, who will be sent to the grand finals, held July 11 in Los Angeles.

As for the Mortal Kombat Cup, it goes on from April through June, in 17 territories. The final round will be held at the Japan Expo in Paris on July 5.

Anyone looking to support the tournaments can do so by purchasing the Blue Steel Sub-Zero skin. Part of the proceeds of which will go into the prize pools of those tournaments.
