Google does a bit of housekeeping by sweeping away clones of Swing Copters

Google has taken the axe to a number of games cloning Swing Copters, the latest release from Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen.

It was reported earlier this week there were a number of clones on the Google Play Store, and while the storefront has been given a scrubbing, there are still a few copycats floating around.

The good news for Nguyen is that his game is now the first game shown, the clones are gone, and the remaining games - while similar - don't seem to be using the exact same mechanics and assets.

Anyway, its nice to see Google cleaning things up a bit. Hopefully this little surge of housekeeping will extend to a good sweeping of the entire store.

Thanks, Phandroid.
