You can't play Xbox games online with your buddies right now

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news folks, but Xbox Live online social services are limited at the moment.

Those wanting to log into Xbox Live on either console to play shooty-shooty with their pals will find they cannot access all games features.

This means no video capturing, managing your friends list, posting game performances and other online features.

Microsoft noted an issues posting to leaderboards on Xbox One, and Xbox 360 users are also getting stuck on a black screen when trying to launch games or apps.

All issues are being investigated and and the firm promises it is "working toward a fix."

The PBS application has also turned up missing for some, so you will just have to watch Mustard Pancakes or Clifford through your regular TV antennae.

Keep looking over the Xbox Live status page for more information as it becomes available.
