Mass Effect’s Garrus seems to be in the new series of Doctor Who

Is that Garrus from Mass Effect in the new series of Doctor Who?

Because it sure-as-hell looks like Garrus from Mass Effect.

The new character/creature appears in the BBC’s official trailer at the 27 seconds mark:

Is it a homage to Garrus, or have the character designers at the BBC been a little heavy-handed with their influences?

The new Doctor Who series starts August 23rd. It’ll probably have the Daleks in it again.
