Dead Island 2 announced for spring 2015 on PC, Xbox One, PS4

Dead Island 2 is heading to the Golden State, and it is full of zombie co-op. It will be released with exclusive content on the PlayStation 4 in spring 2015.

The game is also heading to PC and Xbox One and is in development at Berlin-based studio, Yager.

Dead Island 2 takes place after the first outbreak on Banoi in Dead Island 1. The world has apparently moved on and while zombies are still a known threat, people feel safe in their little bubbles.

"Companies are selling vaccines and the latest zombie survival kits and people believe that the disaster that occurred on a small island in the middle of nowhere could never happen to them," said Jan-Eric Lauble, creative producer at Deep Silver.

"Suddenly, a string of brutal outbreaks occur in California and the government puts a wall around the infected area – leaving California as a Dead Island."

Taking place in California, the open world game will allow you and your friends to fight endless zombie hordes with handcrafted weapons.

The combat system of the game has been redone from scratch to provide a "more visceral experience and control than ever before," and all new dynamic challenges and new enemy types have been added as well.

Multiplayer is described as "seamless and social" as eight players will be sharing the world deciding whether to cooperate, compete or coexist.

Dead Island 2 will have an exclusive beta and exclusive content on PlayStation 4 and more details will be announced in the near future.
