Halo: Master Chief HD Collection rumored for E3 reveal

Saturday, 17th May 2014 14:06 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Master Chief may be gracing your TV screens much sooner than 2015 if the latest rumors are accurate.

According to sources close to Engadget, Microsoft plans on releasing an HD collection featuring numbered Halo titles.

The Halo:Master Chief Collection is said to include: Halo: Combat Evolved (Halo 1), Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4.

Sources close to the site didn’t specify whether Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach were included, but Engadget believes it’s unlikely. The site also suspects the developer to be Combat Evolved Anniversary’s Saber Interactive, which just so happen to be working on an unannounced Xbox One project.

Meanwhile, NeoGAFer Shinobi602 who prepared the Internet for the Halo 5: Guardians announcement ahead of time, said on Twitter the rumor is indeed true, and if he “were a betting man” Microsoft would announce it during its E3 2014 stage presentation.

Format speculation was not provided, so it’s unknown whether the collection will be released on PC as well as Xbox One, and possibly Xbox 360.

Excited, though sad that we won’t be getting a nice smooth/ upscaled version of Reach. Not having ODST and Reach also conveniently omits the titles that had Firefight… stay tuned for H5 Firefight. ;-)

I woudl like to own all The complete Collection in one console ( pun Very intended). Having said that i think they could release as well the second game on 360 just to have the complete collection 360 as well, thetefore you make happy current and future halo fans.

This collection or the HA2 (whichever is happening) will probably include a Halo 5: Guardians beta.

I’d prefer they just do halo 2. Nothing will ever make me play the travesty that was halo 3 again.

I’m glad you didn’t like 3. I feel better knowing I didn’t have to play with you ever.

Why Separate them when majority of fans would pay for the entire collection. Also whatdoes this means for the Halo 2 remake that comes bundled with Halo 5 will they just do the collection or will they just to release Halo 2 and then add it as part of that collection later down the line? These are important questions.

It would be really cool if they combined ALL the maps and multiplayer into one big version. Playing all the old school Halo maps over again… Oh yeah. I’d buy a One for that.
