Unreal Tournament isn't in development at Epic, Sweeny confirms

Unreal Tournament is not in-development at Epic Games, studio founder Tim Sweeny has confirmed. During a GDC panel last night; he added that no games in that universe are being made right now, pouring cold water on the hopes of fans.

It follows Epic's reveal of Oculus-powered VR game Couch Knight. Hit the link to check it out.

During a GDC panel, Sweeny said, "We're not [planning on] shipping an Unreal Tournament game. We have a lot of nostalgia for the game but we're actually not developing anything in the Unreal game universe at all at the moment.

"We've announced Fortnite... That's a game we'll be talking about later. We don't have anything to show you here at GDC. We're developing that project and there are several other projects that aren't announced yet that are being developed with Unreal Engine 4."

Epic also announced that Unreal Engine 4 will be available for $19 a month, and that there's a 5% royalty fee on published titles.
