Amazon’s rumored set-top box may offer PC game streaming should the latest rumors prove true.

amazon-chromecast-dongleAccording to a TechCrunch report, the set-top will be more like a dongle and work similar to Chromecast or, basically, a stick like Roku’s offering.

The “stick” will also steam PC games at 30fps, similar to what OnLive offers.

Last week, rumors that a game controller from the firm supporting Bluetooth surfaced.

Thanks, Ars Technica.

That title is sort of a non sequitur, isnt it? I mean, a dongle isnt a set-top box, so it cant be Amazons set-top box. Because it isnt one.

I’m interested in knowing what this means for this:
So it was BS, then? So much for “sources close to VG247″?

Though i’m noticing a tend with video game journos, and especially this site, and thats new company to rival big 3 stories ending with egg on face. Remember the time Pat always kept banging on about this supposed Apple entry in the console market set to shake up the industry? Ouya? Now this apparently being nothing? The Steam Box(es) arent out yet, but judging by how little interest they’re getting they’re shaping up to be an insignificant blip too.

At least we didnt get an article about how Amazon were about to turn the industry on its head, or whatever.
