Monster Hunter 4 has shipped 4 million units in Japan to date

Monster Hunter 4 is quite successful, like, 4 million units successful. Capcom's RPG has been bowling over Japanese critics and the gaming public since it launched back on September 14. We're still angling for that western release mind you.

Capcom announced the milestone on its Japanese blog today, and added that the figure includes downloads. As of today the Monster Hunter series as a whole has generated some 28 million sales worldwide.

Monster Hunter 4 is coming to Korea on December 14. Any release beyond Japan's borders is a step closer to a western launch.
