Faith in probable genius inventor Jeri Ellsworth seems to be quite high, as her CastAR glasses project has raised its $400,000 Kickstarter goal with 29 days left on the clock.

The project has until November 14 so is likely to tot up a significant amount in further pledges; to this end, Technical Illusions has announced two stretch goals.

At $600,000, the team will create a dungeon tiling tool for use with the RFID Tracking Grid and Magic Wand peripheral, which will support custom tile sets.

Perhaps more on point for consumes, the $800,000 stretch goal adds a microphone and earbuds to the headset

CastAR is a set of active shutter AR glasses with a wand peripheral designed to allow you to control games with one hand. You can buy-in for $189 and the tech will initially support PC, with other platforms being considered.

Ellsworth is just one member of the development team but has become a focus of the project as she is well-known among gamers for a recent, short stint in Valve’s hardware department, which rather undersells her busy career to date.
