LEGO Minifigures Online coming in late 2014

The Secret World and Age of Conan developed Funcom is behind the LEGO brand's latest attempt to crack into the MMO space.

LEGO Minifigures Online was announced in mid-2012, but has just received its official title and first trailer, which you can check out below. It's coming in the second half of 2014 for Android, iOS and PC, and will be playable both through a DirectX 11-enabled client and in-browser.

Mainly aimed at kids, LEGO Minifigures Online includes Pirate World, Space World, Medieval World and "many others", and will have you working alongside "thousands of other players" to collect minifigures and develop their unique abilities.

"We could not be more excited to be working with LEGO on such a great franchise. I think you could even say the team has been training to make this game since we were little kids," executive producer Lawrence Poe said.

"We are 100% focused on delivering the fun, safe, quality experience that people expect when they think of LEGO minifigures.

This isn't the brand's first foray into MMO space; Lego Universe launched in late 2010 and was closed down last year.
