Day Z Standalone development is progressing more day by day, and to show us how far it has come, Bohemia Interactive’s Dean Hall walked VG247′s Sam Clay through a bit of gameplay during gamescom.

While the alpha is still far from being ready for prime time, the video shows the various improvements made to the game’s visuals, plus a bit more information on weapon tech.

Watch above as Hall takes you through the biggest town in the center of Chernarus, Stary Sobor.

“The build we showed at E3 was fucked, this is less fucked.”

Anyway, looks very promising. Can’t wait.

I like that he knows people understand therell be bugs and doesnt care to show his product with a lot of em. I love seeing a demo gameplay of a game with developer nararating, then bug pops up, and it gets awkwardly quiet as they try to fixate their view on something else.
Like you can hear them sweat a little like ‘oh no a bug, everyone will see and no one will understand that this is alpha or beta”

    we understand, developer. we do.

and also, i hated DayZ. i wasnt good at it and was always stuck in the woods far away from anything at all. and if i finally find something, im dead right after. So really its just my bad skills and impatience. But i am very interested in the game, i think id do a lot better on console version. Looking forward to this…even tho ill lose.
