Gran Turismo movie is “being made,” says SCE UK spokesperson

Thursday, 25th July 2013 13:24 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Sony has confirmed a Gran Turismo movie is in the works, but an SCE UK spokesperson said there isn’t any further information to be shared at this present time. It was reported yesterday that the movie would be helmed by The Social Network and Fifty Shades of Grey producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti, but other than the film “being made” the rest of the details remain unconfirmed. Thanks, Joystiq.

Add that to the long list of games to movies “in the works” not even with a set date.

How about we work on Gran Turismo for PS4 and skip the movie? :/

Gran Turismo is a serious simulation game which sports a serious academy. This better be a serious movie and not some Need for Speed style movie.

Do the more recent Gran Turismo games have a storyline to speak of? I played GT2 and it was purely racing. If there is no story and no characters, then basically they are just making a racing movie and using the Gran Turismo name to sell it, when in actuality it’s completely unrelated.

An ex formula 1 driver gets behind the wheel of a GT car, gets into a drive-or-die at the old airport. He and his rival accelerate their engines to the limits, not being able to take the turn, they crash agains the wall at 300mp/h… only to find their cars bounce back on the track, completely untouched…
Our protagonist spends the rest of the movie drinking and doing drugs just wondering wtf he just saw”

    In theatres november who-gives-a-shit.
