Monday, 22nd July 2013 14:06 GMT By Dave Cook

Evo 2013 has come and gone, but film-maker Richard Li has produced a touching video recap of the show from a gamer’s perspective showing the emotion that goes into the tournament and the human side behind all those fierce shoryukens and stick twiddling.

What did you make of Evo this year? Let us know below.

Thanks Shoryuken.

I would be the one to say so, but it really does make the rest of eSports look heartless and corporate by comparison.

No other genre of video game can pit the depths of two individuals’ minds with spectacular display such as fighting games. Not only that, they bring people together in droves from far and wide, and often times these people help each other out with hospitality such as food and lodging to facilitate their travels. Screw shooters. Fighting games are the true king of the action genre, and I’ve long known it.
